How To Clean Your Air Fryer – Check Out Our Top Tips

Never miss a spot with these simple steps

Alright, so you have an air fryer and, surprise! You truly love it and the delicious food it makes, but now you have to clean it, so what’s the easiest way to do that?

The Simplest Way To Wash Your Air Fryer

Luckily, because you need to little oil to cook in, you won’t be dealing with caked-on grease. Also, most fryers are designed to have dishwasher safe parts – such as the basket, and by washing up every time you use it, you won’t have to cope with ingrained food debris.

So, here we go:

  • Check which parts are able to go in the dishwasher. The instruction booklet will tell you, but it’s usually the basket at the very least
  • Unplug your air fryer
  • Leave it to cool if you’ve just finished using it
  • Remove the tray, pan and basket
  • Wipe the outside with a hot, soapy damp cloth
  • Put the items that can go in the dishwasher on a hot wash
  • The remaining pieces, soak in hot water and dishwashing liquid, before giving a thorough clean

Once everything has been washed, ensure it’s completely dry before putting back into the fryer.

What Not To Do

  • Avoid using anything too harsh to remove any stuck-on food debris. Air fryers tend to have a non-stick coating and this could be damaged by rough cleaning methods. If particles aren’t removed by regular washing, leave to soak for longer and resist the temptation to rush
  • Don’t allow any water to get into the motor or electrical components!
