Our Favorite Air Fryer Recipes for all the Family – Delicious, Quick and Simple

We reveal the top 5 air fryers of 2021

If your home is anything like ours, household meals may be a small battle, so we’ve been hunting high and low to bring you the best and tastiest air fryer recipes.

QUICK AIR FRYER DONUTS

These are a time-honored favorite and while not the healthiest, are perfect for a quick, yummy snack on movie night.

  • Cooking spray
  • 120 ml fresh milk
  • 50 g castor sugar
  • 250 g plain flour
  • Salt
  • A packet of active-dry yeast
  • 5 tbsp melted butter
  • A large egg
  • Vanilla extract

Warm up the milk and sugar, and pour over the yeast in a bowl. Leave for approximately ten minutes to become frothy.

In another bowl mix the rest of the ingredients thoroughly and pour over the yeast mixture. Stir this until it forms a dough, and then transfer it to a floured board.

Knead until it becomes elastic, and then form into a ball. Place it in an oiled bowl to rise.

Once it’s doubled in size, break off small pieces and roll into balls approximately small golf ball size, and place on a baking sheet to further rise for around an hour.

Lightly mist using an oil mister, the air fryer basket, and place 2 – 3 in there, making sure they don’t touch.

Cook at 190 for 6 minutes, and place on a rack to cool while you fry the next batch.

Sprinkle with sugar, or glaze with icing and enjoy!

Air Fryer French Fries

Always a staple for snacks or to accompany burgers, chicken, and so on.

First, scrub your potatoes; leaving the skins on is healthier, but it’s a matter of personal choice. Cut them into French fries, or use a cutter, and soak them in cold water for half an hour.

Drain and let them dry on some kitchen paper – remember wet fries equal soggy fries!

While you preheat the air fryer, pop the fries in a bowl with a little oil, salt, and seasonings of your choice, and then it’s time to fry! Don’t cram them into the fryer as they need space to crisp up, then fry them for around 10 minutes for thin fries, and longer for thicker versions.

Air Fryer Sriracha Chicken

The perfect combination of sweet, spicy and moist fried chicken – who could resist?!

  • Chicken pieces – drumsticks, breast, etc
  • Salt
  • Garlic powder
  • Butter
  • 1/4 cup of honey
  • Rice vinegar
  • Sriracha sauce

Heat your air fryer to around 360 degrees

Place your chicken in a bowl and sprinkle on a little salt and garlic powder. Toss to coat each piece.

Cook your chicken pieces in the fryer for around 25 minutes, and then let them stand for five.

In a pan, melt the butter and whisk in the rice vinegar, honey and sauce, and bring to the boil.

Simmer for around 10 minutes, and allow to cool.

Toss the chicken in the sauce and serve with salad and French fries.
