Steak Kebab

Ingredients:

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 2 lb sirloin steak, cut in cubes
  • 1 red onion, cut in cubes
  • 1 green bell pepper, seeded and cubed
  • 1 orange bell pepper, seeded and cubed
  • 1 red bell pepper, seeded and cubed
  • 8 metal skewers
  1. Combine garlic, pepper, soy sauce and olive oil together in a bowl. Add the sirloin steak to the marinade. Toss to coat evenly. Cover the meat with plastic wrap and let it absorb the marinade for about 30 minutes to an hour.
  2. Skewer the marinated meat with the red onion and bell pepper.
  3. Grill the steak kebab over medium heat for about 12-15 minutes. Make sure to turn for even cooking results. The kebabs are ready when the meat has turned brown and the vegetables are already tender.

Grilled Hamburger

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 cheese slices, Cheddar or Swiss
  • 3 burger buns
  • 1 large tomato, sliced thinly
  • 1 red onion, sliced thinly
  • 3 leaves of iceberg lettuce
  • Mustard
  • Mayonnaise
  • Ketchup
  1. Mold the ground beef into 3 patties with equal sizes. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper. Create a shallow indent at the center of each patty using your thumb to prevent it from puffing at the center.
  2. Grill the patties on high heat, ideally for 6 minutes for each side for medium, until a crust starts to form. Add the cheese on top of the patties 2 or 3 minutes before it’s fully cooked.
  3. Arrange the patties and other toppings on the bun before serving.

Deep-Fried Turkey

Ingredients:

  • 3 gallons of peanut oil
  • Whole turkey
  • ÂĽ cup Creole seasoning blend
  • 1 white onion
  1. Heat the peanut oil for up to 400° F. Always remember not to fill the turkey fryer to the brim to allow more space for the turkey.
  2. Rinse turkey, and pat it completely dry to prevent the oil from boiling over. Rub the seasoning inside and outside the turkey. A hole at the neck of the bird will allow the oil to cook the insides evenly.
  3. Put the turkey and onion in the basket, neck first. Slowly submerge the basket into the oil. Keep the temperature as high as 350° F for about 45 minutes.
  4. Remove the basket carefully and drain the oil from the turkey. Using a meat thermometer, check the internal temperature, which should be around 180° F for it to be considered cooked.
